It Goes Without Saying by ~Shadoling:iconShadoling:

If city streets could talk,
The stories they'd tell
would be beautiful.

If there was a whisper on the wind,
Carried from each city block,
In the snow and the rain,
Or even sunshine, that everyone could hear,
And understand. The world would be different.
Just like you and me.

If there's a chance between and I,
Summer maiden, autumn's boy,
one in constant sunlight, the other for the leaves,
Decaying leaves, swirl in orange, gold, brown, and scarlet,
Hers is eternal emerald, with blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes,
He is black and white, alabaster skin, ebony hair,
With a drooping smile, hers is the dazzling sun
She always smiles.

One wrong turn on the street corner,
And she was lost forever. The autumnal boy
lost without her, was found over the bridge,
The river embraced him, he climbed over the side
Of sweet, suicidal stone.
We all cross a bridge at one time in our lives.

She came back.

If only you knew how much he loved you
You never would have taken that corner,
You never would have left.

that if I were you,
And you were I,
things would've been different.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.
To you, I will be unique in all the world...
You will become responsible forever for what you have tamed..."

lovely... this is really good! now, i really like the way you put those kinda five senses in it and you really can feel and touch and hear and see just like the characters in your poem and to improve it even more, you can cut out some words that are not needed such as he, black and white insteadd of he is black and white, it gives more of the feeling of show, don't tell, and the reader can feel more involved and think about the image themselves. ta! hope you understandwhat i mean eh ^ ^

"And I'd like to say,the thanks lies with you"

I've never favourited two poems in a row before, & I read a LOT of poetry! There's a whole screenplay here...I just love the way you've personified them as seasons & colours...really adds to the effect. It reminds me of a ballad I could imagine a folk-singer delivering, with great beauty & pathos...just  it!:-)

That's pretty. You've told a story, and woven a very visual tapestry. Nice work :D

I like your ending a lot. Although, from your beginning, I think you and me see cities very differently! hehe

We see the world the way it is because we exist
:iconshadoling:
:) I like finishing strong, something I have trouble doing, sometimes. XD How do you view cities, Damien?

:D Well, actually, I'm very glad you did! It means a lot to me. I definitely try to bring personification to the more important forms of imagery..it's special to my work.
A ballad, huh? I hadn't thought of that, actually. :O
thank you for reading.
